Our lamps are made from Manila rope. You can also order the same rope separately.

This rope is more than two centimeters thick and has four strands. Manila rope comes from the Philippines. Here it is produced in a traditional way. The rope is made from banana leaves that are at least six meters long.

No oil or other harmful materials are used for the production of this rope. It is therefore a 100% natural product. Many types of Manila rope give off an unpleasant oil smell. We have a variant without oil so you will not smell the rope.

In the past, Manila rope was often used in shipping. Nowadays, the rope is mainly used as decoration. We use it to make a unique lamp.
